I bought some land in Cincta, a sim in the new continent, about a month ago. When I purchased the land Cincta was a mature sim. I know this because when I bought it I was specifically looking for mature land for my shop (some of my sound effects have some naughty words and connotations).
Yesterday I noticed that Cincta had changed to a PG sim. I'm not sure when it happened. But I'd sure as heck like to know why. And I'd like to know why the residents of Cincta weren't at least notified that the change was going to take place.
This adversely affects my business, because now I can't sell my naughtier sounds. I am also going to take a big loss if I sell the land to move my shop again to a mature sim, since PG is worth less than Mature.
Does this happen often? A sudden change from Mature to PG with no notice? (Or even the other way around?) I'd sure hate to go through the process of finding another mature sim for my shop just to have it changed to PG out of nowhere again.

Gee, that's really weird, and observant of you to catch that, Imp! I don't know about Cincta but perhaps it's a bug that the designation somehow got switched? Hmmm.

Never heard of this happening before.
It's either a user mistake or a linden mistake. I'd suggest you confirm it's not the former by polling a few of your fellow residents and then send an email to support or something.

Damn! That sucks donkey balls! I'm guessing a mistake too; I've not heard of that happening in 1.5 years. Drop a line to support@secondlife.com; they'll fix you up. I also wouldn't start pulling stock from your shelves until you get a response (just so long as you're pretty sure the mistake isn't in your recollection ).

Like Malachi said, this hasn't happened in a while. Back in 2003 sim ratings changed all the time due to a bug. They most often ended up labeled "Unrated" though.

I haven't a clue how I did it, but once it was pointed out to me I of course changed all the plots. I also immediately IMed 4 customers, of which you was one, informing them of the mistake with an offer of a refund. No one took me up on the offer, perhaps they had realised it was PG anyway. If you didn't get the message, maybe they were capped for that day? *shrug* In any case, the offer still stands Imp. Please accept my apologies and if you would like a refund, IM me in world

As your neighbour i'd suggest that no-one's going to complain about your naughty sounds. You can also turn on the land parcels local sound option which would mean no-one outside the parcel would hear them anyway ?

LOL, ok so I'm only half crazy. Hiro, thanks for stepping forward. I either never received or somehow missed your IM about this. And though you made a mistake in the listing, it was also my responsibilty to make sure I was buying the kind of land I wanted. Thank you for your offer, I'll be in touch when I get in-world. And Lauk, I actually had a complaint, and accused of racism, from a neighbor on my other land, which is PG, because of a sound byte I sell from the movie Pulp Fiction. Even though I had the localized sound option on. Supposedly Samuel Jackson yelling "English, motherfu****, do you speak it?" is racist towards you Brits! Still not sure how one American angrily asking another American if they speak English is racist towards the English... Besides, some of my best friends are English!

To think that I've been running around all these years thinking that being British denoted one's nationality. Since I am from the American race, I would like to officially complain about the anti-american sentiments I have seen posted, after all racism is forbidden on the forums....

As I also have land in Cincta, I'm sure you can imagine my interest in this thread. I was reading along with an open mind and had not yet developed my position in the matter. Now imagine my surprise to find that I need not have bothered as my neighbor has formed one for me! Go figure; I so often feel nonplussed here. It seems a presumptious thing to do, especially since I thought your land is for sale; perhaps I'm mistaken. I tried to pm you rather than post here but your account isn't enabled for that.
