About Public/Released land

In the past few weeks there have been some big plots of released/public land and I never managed to find one

Of course they get snapped quickly, but I also remember some old post talking aobut Land Scanners, some sort of scripted object looking out for public land being released I guess? And a few people mentioned that it is a bad thing as it creates lag as well.

What's my point.
Well first of all I have nothing against peopel who managed to find a buy some Public land or groups of people etc.. the land is there for everyone to buy

But my point is really this one... is this land really there for everyone to buy?
So this takes me to this Land Scanners stuff

Are land scanners legal?
Are they freely avaialble or can be purchased or who is able to script them keeps them away from mass distribution?

The issue is this one.. If a plot of land is released, and it is defined 'public for anyone to buy' then every one should have the same fair chance to take some of that land...
The exsistence of Land Scanners may actually make a joke of the words Public Land because if land scanners send a message to Scanners' oweners about a piece of land becoming public, really the only people that will manage to know and buy this land are scanners owners.
Making the whole public land fairness proposition a big flawed joke.

In other words it is like the masses are excluded from having the option to buy some public land.

Also if Scanners create lag and make the whole thing unfair... shouldn't they be banned?
Or, if they do not create lag... should they be made avaialable to anyone for fairness sake?

Or maybe shouldn't LL have global messages going out when public land appears? Just like when LL makes an open broadcast about the servers to be shut down or stuff like that... maybe there could be an option for players to tick within the menues that enables them to recieve such messages... (I know this coudl create a race for gold and could be bad...but just trying to makes things more equal to every one)

I do not know much about land scanners etc.. so some of my words may be out of place... but what do other people think about land scanners objects? Make then banned? Give/sell them to every one? LL to make Released land information more effective...
OR

The best way for me woudl be to ban any sort of land scanners and do not broad cast this type of info.... Instead leave it as it is and it will be up to people to search for public land when they feel like it.... this would make it fair because we all can have a look at the same map.. and if you make an effort to search for it... then some time you may actually find it... without land scanners we all need to search for it and things would be fare

you might want to do a search on this topic cause the issue has been talked about in depth before. or you could just sit tight and i'm sure it will now be talked about in depth again.

basically land scanners aren't illegal and if done right don't cause too many problems. they can be made so they're super inefficient just like any script can be though. public land is pretty much a joke anymore whether there are land scanners or not as far as i can tell.
