These low prices are just too much of a temptation!!

I wondered about this as I read the thread calling for a stabilization of land values (in the General Forum!). Popular opinion seemed to be pleased with the current low prices and considered this to be a great time to buy. GOM exchange rates are down a bit too, so I'm feeling pretty good about things turning around soon, aren't you?
In my inner circle of friends, two have tiered up. One adding on to an already sizeable parcel and considering even more. The other went from no land to a pretty large parcel, putting him a tier level higher than he had intended on going up to. From his appearance. I'd judge him to be the eccentric type who probably had his lindens stuffed in an old mattress just waiting for an opportunity like this to arise. As for myself, while I didn't increase my tier, I did take advantage of the low price of a small parcel adjacent to mine to use up some available tier. I figured I could gamble with $12 worth of Lindens. It makes my pulse race to wondering if yhis investment will ever grow to (gasp!) $15. Don't say it, I know it will more likely drop to $10 but that is what makes it so thrilling! ![]() What's the mood with your friends? Burnt out or buying? _____________________

Cautiously optomistic. I think the SL recession may be nearing an end.

Well I'm surprised to see so few posters in this thread. Blaze, I thought it was a very timely question. Such a good opportunity for us to share our plans for SL. Perhaps all the people buying land are too busy building wonderful new creations for us to see. Maybe someone could make a Shirley Temple avie and she could go around singing some of those great Depression era songs used to pump people up.
Temple Shirley - Be Optimistic Lyrics Lyrics/Music W.Bullock/H.Spina Be optimistic! Don't you be a grumpy When the road gets bumpy Just smile (Smile and be happy!) Your troubles can't be As bad as all that When you're sad as all that No one loves you Be optimistic! Don't you be a mourner Brighten up that corner And smile Don't wear a long face It's never in style Be optimistic And smile! _____________________

Just the Summer slump. Things will pick up when the college crowd gets its fast connections in the Fall.

i may not be planning on taking over an entire sim or anything, but it IS the perfect time to hunt out some land for The Quirk to build the SL:UT HQ.
![]() hopefully i can find just the size in just the right place.. but with these prices, i may be willing to widen my areas of preferrence. _____________________

Just the Summer slump. Things will pick up when the college crowd gets its fast connections in the Fall. You know, I thought this too comparing it to other indoor activites like the gym which experiences a drop in attendance during the summer months. But another poster corrrected this notion by saying that SL usage actually increases during the summer. _____________________

I realize that this forum isn't as well attended as the general forum and that happy recent land buyers may be too busy building to post about it here. Nonetheless, the tier down vs up trends seems out of balance. Any insight on what individuals might do to contribute to a turnaround?
