Linden Lab announced it is reversing it's position on allowing the exchange of its L$ currency for USD in the next version of Second Life.
Long time investors in the platform who've spent countless hours creating content for other players decry foul play while Linden Lab considers appropriate compensation to players with now worthless Linden Dollars.
Max Case of the "It's a Game" Lobby asserts compensation is subsidization of poor investment specualtion. Veteran Second Lifer and professional economist, Cristiano Midnight reminds us that Second Life is risky business, and fair compensation is undeserved.

Because I think this is a tasteless parody of the announcement of point to point teleporting. Nothing to see here.

Did the "Land & Economy" thread became the comic relief forum group overnight and we have all missed it?

Yeah, and if you whine when this happens all I can say is that you were duely warned: From: someone 6.4 Second Life Currency. You acknowledge that the Second Life service presently includes a component of in-world fictional currency. You agree that Linden has the absolute right to manage, regulate, control, modify and/or eliminate such currency as it sees fit in its sole discretion, and that Linden will have no liability to you based on its exercise of such right.

I think this is a brillant ploy by Wu to drive down the cost of Lindens so people like me who only buy them can get more for our money. BRAVO!

From: Jauani Wu Linden Lab announced it is reversing it's position on allowing the exchange of its L$ currency for USD in the next version of Second Life. Somehow I don't find this post amusing. For those new to the forums, Jauani's post is an attempt at humor, and not a true announcement about any sort of change with LindeX. Cheers, Lawrence

I agree with Lawrence, this thread isn't appropriate for the SL forums and as such is being closed.
