making smaller islands from one big one

Hi...

This is my first question on here, only had SL for 4 days and think its brilliant!! anyway...

Im looking into buying a small island (65,536 square meters ) and was wondering if its possible to divide it into several smaller islands letting the sea run between them?

yes !

To elaborate a little, yes you have total control over the terraforming and can even upload your own textures to change the terrain of the island.

You can raise and lower the land +/- 100m which is more than enough to make mountains if you desire. You can also control the sea level and the sun position meaning you can keep it at sunset all the time.

You can not only raise or lower land above or below sea level but you can also choose the land's texture (grass, stone, etc).

When you purchase an island you have far greater control over it than if you simply owned land.

Take a peek into the World->Region/Estate menu in the Second Life client for the type of options and control you would have over an island.

I had the same idea when I first joined and still have 3 reservations that will expire it July. I still haven't bought an island yet but will probably before the end of summer. Welcome to SL and the forum. There are many terrific people playing the game and a few who just cause trouble. It doesn't take long to figure out who is who and I have not met many obnoxious people inworld. Enjoy.
