Is there a script you can use to type in the name of an avie and get the land owned by that avie?

No, there is no way to find out land owned by a given account unless you're a Linden, or that account's user.

The online service Roam has/had a pretty good search. Just put in an avatar name and see land owned by that AV. I have no idea how updated that is though.

there is a sim mapper device which will map entire sim with owners and percentage of land owned by each individual the mapper exports the data to a website for your perusal

If i remember in game will pass the sreators details over to you

Whilst there are ways to map a sim, and thus ways to automate that for the whole grid spreading objects like that may:

1) trigger the grey goo fence unless VERY well written and
2) get you banned, someone used to have such a system and was given a cease and desist order, starting one up again will get a rapid response I suspect, and not a friendly one.

With the develepment of libsl and the non graphical clients, it will be possible to do without prims or lsl. You could have a avatar/npc/bot that is controlled by a specialized client.

This sounds like an invasion of privacy, it this info was then
made available without the perm of the av in question.

I'm sure you could use llGetLandOwnerAt to scan a whole sim from one prim in that sim, and it wouldn't grey goo. You could then get a rough, blocky map of who owned what where. I've not tried it (and there are issues with group ownership).

it works... i've made one... and the group thing can be handled if your creative ;)

it also causes no dip in sim dialation - tested it in a busy sim today, got 113 parcel owners
