Let's say you find a plot of land that is being auctioned by Governor Linden. It's got a nice purple border and when you look at "About Land", you find a number which is supposed to identify the auction. Now where do I find that auction. If I go to http://secondlife.com/auctions/, it's not listed and if I replace the number of one of those auctions that is listed with the number from in game, I get nothing. Is the list at http://secondlife.com/auctions/ complete?

From: Gabe Lippmann About the time it has been sold? That's what I'm figuring. There was one plot near me which was "being auctioned" for months it seemed like. I never did see it on that list.

You have to check the auctions daily if you want a certain sim that has been brought online but not yet listed. They don't list all available sims that are online, just a certain amount with several on ready for when the listed sims sell.

Well, that isn't fun. It certainly is an advantage for people who do it for a living and can check it religiously.
Any idea how long an auction stays up once it gets listed?

Any idea how long an auction stays up once it gets listed? It will stay listed until the first bid is placed, then the timer starts. Once the first bid is placed the auction runs for 2 days, extended only if someone places a last minute bid. If someone places a last minute bid the auction is extended for 2 minutes and keeps getting extended until no one places a higher bid for two minutes, (to prevent "stealing" . There are sims that have been listed on auction for a few weeks now with no bids being placed. As for individual parcels, I haven't seen one stay listed for very long, few hours to a week tops. But, they too run for 2 days once the bidding starts. So, it will be available for at least 48 hours once listed. I know how you feel, I'm waiting for a certain sim to make the auction list.
