Let's see if i have this straight. someone can build/plant an object that is technically on their own land but sticks out into your land. you politely request if they would be so kind as to move it because it's sticking through walls/vendors/objects/etc. they not only refuse, but get an attitude, mute you, ban you from their land. you ask the Lindens for assistance with the following steps: Live Help, then file abuse reports, and email customer support. the only response you get is that it is up to the residents to resolve the issue.

when the offender has muted the offended, what can be done?

the case in question, this person and friend have taken over almost 1000sq meters of neighboring land (location of a mall) by planting trees near the property lines. when requested to move them, the response was that they were on the offenders' property and the offended shouldn't have built so close to the property line. Further dialog is impossible as the offenders have muted the offended (proven by notecards being immediately refused when offenders are offline).

What can be done?

Probably best to contact a Linden Liason in world for assistance... :)

Work around the fool. Some people are better left alone. They'll move in time or you'll find a better place around socially adept people that will welcome and work with you. If you're giving yourself a headache over it, step back and determine just how important it really is for you to let this person know that they're ruining your day.

If you have taken all those steps and the person will still not comply, I would fight fire w/ fire. Hang shit onto their plot and add particles (everyone loves particles). I would also return the favor and ban them from your land.

And make sure the object that hangs onto their land plays a looping sound, Bananaphone is a real crowd pleaser.

Build heavy thick walls (10m all the way) sticking out the property line in the same way and move the floor of your builds up to this new level.

It's sad that we reduce every inworld problem to a solution based on impatient juvenile posturing. But it's true so might as well live with it eh. What I don't understand is why everybody gets up in arms about letting teenagers play. They fit right in.
