Boo. They really need to bring back the option of not having to go through land barons to get some land. Give me 1/2 sims, 1/4 sims and 1/8 sims. I'm really sick and tired of seeing 10L/m2 for 1/8 sim parcel and above.

Why buy these rather than an arcipelago?

This isn't intended to start a flame war, it is an honest question.
I don't understand why people would buy a block of mainland sims rather than 10 or more islands, particularly since the land values are at risk from various forms of legal griefing. I could maybe see buying 1, but for 10, 20, or 40, you could put together a very nice sub continent that could be controlled and sold/rented for more than the mainland sims. It's a bit cheaper maybe, but seems more risky too. Plus, 14 days or so to come up with terraforming for 40 sims seems pretty short! Or am I missing something here. |

Well yes, the mainland and private sims are very different. I have a bunch of private sims myself, and they have some better tools than maingrid land for dealing with griefers etc. But the main grid land has other advantages, such as being able to parcel and sell the plots on. The thing I find most attractive about this new type sim, is bing able to shape part of the main grid, your creation would remain part of the grid once you had sold it on ![]() |
