A semi-related post that I made recently got me thinking about this. Is it time yet for a "Second Life Guru" to do a late night infomercial on "how to make a KILLING in second life with NOTHING DOWN!" or something similar? Are any of our self proclaimed "top economic minds" well suited to fill this roll? How many CDs/DVDs should be included? What would people pay for this kind of information?

Well, speaking as a consumer I know I wouldn't be interested unless the offer came with a free GENUINE Swarovski crystal tipped silver plated pen with an LCD light in the end of it and IF I BUY RIGHT NOW, I'd expect a coffee pot with an alarm clock in it that I can connect to my tower. ;D And I would only have respect for your company if you promised to donate at LEAST 1% of your proceeds (after taxes and expenditures, naturally!) to the Katrina Relief Fund..

hehe there's actually a book for sale on E-bay for 40 dollars on how to make money in SL. :D And OBVIOUSLY someone's BUYING it or it wouldn't be for sale. Funny thing is, you can get all this information FREE once you log in from NCI or any such new player organization. ;D

An eBay book isn't nearly as fun as in infomercial though. :)

And CDs aren't as much fun as live seminars! You should organize one! Free hot dogs! Souvenier blow up dolls modeled to look like SL supermodels! Wonder how the Hasselhoff Revolver of DOOM would translate to RL... hmm...

It's a little TOO SL. :) You can't put that on TV. :) Or at least, I don't think so. :)

The real question is: which infomercial would attract more new players?

SL: Make money with nothing down!
SL: All the kinky sex you can handle!

Or go for both!

SL: Make money with nothing down USING all the kinky sex you can handle.

We need to attract more consumers and less people who want to earn money here. We simply need more people to buy L$ from Lindex and less sellers.
That's why: SL: All the kinky sex you can handle!

I've always thought it was funny that the poeple who are touting these great ways to make millions are on TV pitching a get rich quick scheme rather than using their own process to make millions.

It's because they'd go broke, or in some cases go to prison, for practicing what they preach. They'd rather YOU go broke or go to prison. :)
