How do I find other people's prims on my land? Do the governor's trees count?

This is kinda land newbie question but I couldn't find the answers with search - 'cause like every post in the forums has the words "prim" and "other" in it!
My new parcel says it has 14 objects owned by other people in it. I started building and figured those were the trees and bushes. Well now I'm down to 39 prims left and figured I could use a few less bushes in exchange for prims. I went and returned some bushes, but the other poeple's object count stayed at 14 so I guess they don't really count!
I can't see any other stuff on my land other than what I made though I guess someone could have stuffed thing in the walls or underground... Is there i way to track down those prims without pulling apart my house?!
Also it seems if you're wearing prims it counts against your prim allowance, but if you wear prims and walk into the land it wont stop you. Is that right? How much do folks usually leave aside in spare prims on their land?
Thanks in advance!

Attachments shouldn't count towards land prim-limits, AFAIK... I should hope not, 'cause my Av has more prims than my land's prim allowance. I'm not certain if the gov's trees count... I do know that trees you rez yourself do count, however. In the About Land dialog, there should be an option to return other people's objects from your plot. That'd get rid of 'em.

Yep, the Gov's trees count. One prim each. Do what Cross says and hit that "return' button.

The Governor's trees and bushes do count against the prims on your land. That's why so many lots get stripped bare of foliage after someone moves in If returning the bushes didn't lower the figure, give it a while, and recheck. The asset server has been slow today, and it may take a few minutes to recalculate the number.

From: Pituca Chang Do what Cross says and hit that "return' button. I don't want to do that! I'm gonna preserve each of the pines, I'm even building my house around them! Lisse, Thanks.. I checked again and the number's gone down... but now it says 12 and I count only 8 bushes and trees! Any ideas? P.S. When my house is done I'm sure throwing a party! Everybody's invited! LOL! I just discovered all those trees in the library folder! Ok I'm planting copies and returning everything! /me is sooooooo dummmmm!

Take a pic of your new land before you move in for historical reference, you will see where all the trees were and you will just be glad you have a pic of the place when it was new.
It is easier to manage your land objects if everything starts out as being owned by you. You wont have to keep track of 14 objects owned by others that are actually just trees.
Return all the Governors trees and plant your own. She has made it easy for you to do. In your library you have a whole set of all the trees the Lindens plant around the world. It is in the library objects, in folders named Trees and Trees, Plants and Grasses. All the trees are there with their proper names as well.
Thanks to Salazar Jack, premier forestry guru, for alerting me to these very useful folders in our library.

As a side note, I've suggested in the Suggestions forums and to a couple of Lindens directly that it would be oh-so-nice to have a fourth 'Return Governor's Items' button and that those items should be immune from the auto-return timer. 8 trees and bushes are fine, but you try replanting snowy pines on 26,000 m2 of land!

unless this has changed you can go to the prim couter in your land info and click return objects owned by others. It will pop up with a dialog box that asks if you really want to. The prims owned by others should have a yellow halo around them. Hope this helps! Launa
