Somebody told me they will be planning to get rid of this hubs. Is this true? Does anybody know what is going on?
If so, I'm glad. I really really hate those things.
There is this one place I like to go to alot, and I have to fly for years just to get there. The only place I can go to easy is the islands. But on the mainland, you have to fly forever. I asked the owner about it, and he said that he gets alot of probs from people getting lost trying to get to his spot.

The teleporting is plot sensitive, and I believe owners can set exactly where on their plot where people will teleport in.

Im really glad that they did this. 1) I dont want to spend my time in game flying 1000+ yards to get to a store I want to goto. 2) It gives every business a fair chance now. before, those that were closest to the TeleHubs were usually more sucessful. Now pTp will give everyone an even playing field. 3) and hell, there is no reason for telehubs in the first place, so Im glad the Lindens did this. Oh, and if you disagree with #2, whatever. Everyone should have a fair chance at having a successful business. If you have to rely on being close to the telehub to have sales, then maybe you need to get better vendors. I hate the "Ive been here longer, so I deserve it" people, so save it, because people come in every day and could care less if you've been here since day 1. Thank you LINDENS!

... Actually we always did have a fair chance, just that people chose to hog the hubs. I have 3 hub stores and 2 stores 2 or 3 sims from the nearest hub. My non-hub stores do far far, I mean way more business than the ones at the hubs. I've always put it down to people not using the hubs because of the awful lag there. I'm extremely pleased that p2p is here again at last, hubs were nothing but a nuisance.

For me, it's definately the case as Im in China now so I avoid hubs like the plague but I'd imagine if I were in the states I wouldnt bother with it. Good point. Regardless Im happy as a pig in (you know) that pTp is here!

This pixie's also very pleased at p2p. I not only had to fly miles to one of my favourite areas, I also had to fly over land that was either already private or up for rent, and there was no reason for the landowners to have to make a route across that land. I couldn't see any better solution to that than P2P

All I know is that I no longer have to rez at a telehub and get slammed with a massive rez due to all the shops.
In fact, I do my best to *not* shop at telehub land in protest... perhaps, dare we think it... telehubs will no longer be smeared with shops and whatever else? At the very least this might spur shops to spread out a bit, and deal with the pile-ups of stores in the parcels radiating around telehubs.
