Could lack of fraud be a reason the L$ is rising so rapidly?

With IGE and GOM, if people were farming the L$, they had an outlet that they could sell without worrying about risking their money with LL.

Now with lindex, is it possible that farmers are not selling their L$ via LL because they are afeared (or they've already been caught)?

Ricky, can you comment? Did you share all your user data with LL?

Also, is it possible that if you're buying L$ from IGE / SLExchange / wherever, that you're actually underwriting these farmers?

Could you explain this "farming" process please, Blaze, for those of us who don't understand what precisely you are talking about ?

Our user data was private and confidential. We would, however, collaborate with LL when fraud was perpetrated. As an example, about two months prior to our closing there was a rash of eBay chargebacks from a single user who tried to cash out through us. LL was notified by the sellers and contacted us with the info. The fraudster's accounts were frozen and the L$ returned to their rightful owners.

I'm personally of the opinion that permium account farming is in no way against the TOS and anyone engaging in it shouldn't have to worry about LL anyway. Basically, LL says "give us $72 and over the course of a year we'll pay you L$500 per week". They're taking essentially the same position as There.com did, as an easy source of currency. The only difference is that with There, you could get your currency all at once. With SL, it's paid over time. Nothing fishy about giving LL money in exchange for another premium account at all.

I would agree with that opinion, Ricky. Two questions:

1. Would you agree that there is nothing fishy about giving LL money in exchange for another premium account and the First Land that goes with it?

Or should one eschew the First Land that goes with it, on the theory that land is scarce and one is depriving true newbies of said First Land by purchasing it?

2. The place where I start getting iffy is at more than five accounts per user. They've said that only five accounts are allowed per user (I think it's five), but that is tracked only by credit card, and heaven knows plenty of us have bunches of credit cards. So would you say that give them $72 on whatever credit card for however many accounts, even over five per person, and there would be nothing fishy about that as well?
