just looking around the map at what's changed since i joined it looks like the Lindens don't like letting land just end in a chopped off edge. they like coasts. so look round the map and anyplace the land just ends you can probly assume more land will get attached. for example the right edge of the snow sims got attached to the other new stuff east of it recently. so yeah the new continent will have land west of it at some point and NE too at least a lil bit.

i'm hoping for more ocean. :D widen that route up to the new continent.

Been too busy to write lately - extended "negotiations" with LIER. They want to allow settlers to come here already - and I'm not done exploring yet!

I can't stop them, but I can slow them down. They will let us keep exploring, but make available the land we have already explored.

That announcement accompanied the appearance of the land we can access now. Seems like that implies even more land will be coming shortly.

Hehehe that will bring down prices in the New Continent, which is now the Dog's Breakfast ROFL.

I have to say that I'm shocked that the FPS out in this New Continent, given that it has no telehubs and hardly much out there yet and hardly any laggy clubs and such is only like in the 1500-2000 range. What's up with that?

This is funny because your plot is one of the most expensive ones available. $6000 for 512, awesome.

Yeah, isn't it? This is the New Continent. And prices are like that. I know, I bought a lot there for $3750, very high for PG, right next to that, within the first few hours. And the prices keep rising, and as we know, I've been accused of "lowballing" news with this figure of $3750, although of course they are selling for $6000, and not to me, in mature, and for waterfront in PG, they could expect at least $3750 from me if not more, depending on location and builds nearby. If they don't like my offers, hey, they are grown-ups free to make any other ones. Are you a grown-up?

You know why this parcel has a price of $5999 on it, hon? Because I bought it for $5000? Could that be relevant? ROFLMAO. And now with YOU there in the sim, it really has become a dog's breakfast, and it is hard to understand why anyone would stay? If the people with the Tiki asked me for a sale, I'd give them a significant discount. But since YOU are buying up lots and griefing the area with ugly, why should I make that experience a cheap one for you, even in PG? Hello?

A price is a function between a willing buyer and a willing seller. If you are not a willing buyer, move along, there will be others. If there aren't willing buyers, then the seller becomes more willing to bring down his price. It's called "the market place".

Could you go back to building your black mega tower of death and av-pushing? And spend less time scouring the beachfront to find small businessmen and newbies to harass.

Can't you please just shut up? (edited) To top things off, you're one of the worst land barons who has ever existed. You charge exorbitant prices, harass competitors and neighbors, and pollute the forums with these ridiculous diatribes and ad hominem attacks.

I'm tired of it, Prokofy. Ad hominem begets ad hominem. (edited)

I'm tired of it, Prokofy. Ad hominem begets ad hominem. If any other fool behaved as you do, they'd have long ago been silenced. As it is, you're miraculously free to behave like a complete and utter asshole

Um, could you back up those ridiculous charges?

I am not a land baron. Trading in land does not put you in the land baron caste. Believe me, THEY know the difference.

I do not charge exhorbitant prices. Find one in world, snap-shot it, bring it here. Trust me, $5999 in Caleta on land that 2 days ago cost $5000 is not exhorbitant. And like I said, it is there to see if someone pays it who really needs it, and those who are Tiki-inclined know they can always IM me. I can't imagine a single exhorbitant price of mine you will find in this game. Go try, please, that's a fun little scavenger hunt LOL.

I do not harass competitors. How do you figure that? Again, could you back up these charges? I can't think of anybody who is exactly in the kind of rentals I am, but I cooperate with others who rent and try to simple pass them on the appropriate tenants and so on, as they do to me. Where is your issue here? I complain to a landowner about her white-box-of-death tenants that physically block a property line of mine from reaching waterfront, and which block view in a menacing way with a laggy club plunked down on water in front of an entire mainland of owners all of whom are mega unhappy about this, and you call THAT harassing a competitor? No, it is saying you can't do that with a pass from me.

Harassing neighbours? Um, try to prove that one? Because one of them harasses me to sell my land and I say no? Because one of them has huge builds in the water and we asked, could she sell a square so that some of the view *could* be bought? Hello? Find me an example of "harassing" a neighbour that isn't a trumped-upo fake. I await the results of your wild goose chase.

Ridiculous diatribes? Shrugs. I have a theory, I defend it, it fits for me, take it or leave it. It's a debate.

Ad hominem attacks against specific men? Where? Describing a class, criticizing the features of that class, and blasting the power of those features in this class to obstruct the game -- that's not an ad hominem attack. It is legitimate criticism in a free society.

please do not reply to this bit:

I've found the best way to deal w/ Prok is skip over his posts and threads entirely, and skip over any replies, and generally treat his input and the response it garners as what it is (irrelevant). Yes, I'm breaking from form right now, but what the hell, I've had some martinis :D.

This bit is more on topic and can stand discussion:

Isn't it a sign of what a one-horse town SL is that it only needs one Welcome Area, and land sales are viewed as a single closed system? If growth continues at the rates we've seen (and we should all hope so if we want to see SL live on), then we'll need to decentralize, with multiple WAs on multiple continents. Looking at it like, "OMG, if they keep rolling out new land I can't sell my old land" is thinking small. How long before SL's population doubles? We can't know for sure, but growth should be exponential, or nearly so.

SL isn't just some online RPG--if it's successful, SL becomes a permanent fixture of the Web, the 3D interface for browsing. If not, the end is near. In any case, you can expect a lot of evolution between here and there; we're nowhere near the "metaverse" (what a rotten name, it's just another verse) yet.
