Ok, something that I think is very important. Now Linden Labs fully endorse the selling of linden for a RL currency, does this mean there a rule about creating Av's and object that are copyright in RL. E.g. A Superman AV, Sonic, "Magic" (the card game) or risk...
Do you have to contact the creator first... I mean you’re not allowed to make another tringo game with more pieces or more options. I am just wondering, can a RI company take some one to Corte over a Game, where they where making profit off there creation? It’s a little worrying!
Looking for views ,opions and answers...

This isn't a new thing. If you are selling, exhibiting, or distributing any material where someone else holds the copyrights, they can issue a DMCA takedown order, and ultimately take you to court. To prove infringement, they do have to show a financial loss, but that doesn't happen until after the takedown, and after they get you into court. By which time you will have probably settled, just because of high legal fees.
So this isn't a new thing, and it has nothing to do with you selling or profiting. Copyright infringement has to show a financial loss for a judgement to be made against the infringer, and it doesn't matter if you're selling for-profit or not selling. But the DMCA takedown notice and a provider serving and fulfilling a takedown doesn't require this proof, it requires only that the material is unauthorized and the entity issuing the takedown holds the copyrights.

Ok, someone could do some damage in sl. I have seen Av's copyed (under copyright) from games like Halo and Sonic games.
Does owning one of these copys make you reliable in any way?

This raises more questions, can you copyright somthing made in SL. Like Tringo, or a rental system?

From: Alex Edo Ok, someone could do some damage in sl. I have seen Av's copyed (under copyright) from games like Halo and Sonic games. The only damage to be done would be to individual residents who are breaking the law, not to SL itself (unless the loss of a Master Chief AV would be considered 'harm'). The holder of the copyright can ask LL to have these items removed, and LL will concede. If any legal action were to be taken it would be against the person that actually broke the law, i.e. the resident that made and was selling the AVs. That's the way I hear it, anyway. -Ghoti

As stated, this is nothing new. And yes, owning a copy of illegal content makes you liable; just as if you were buying stolen goods on a streetcorner. There are of course "Fair Use" issues with some things, but those items that are sold wouldn't seem to fit that exemption. Ya rolls your dice and takes your chances.
As for copyrighting your work, the answer is "Yes". If you were to write a poem and save it in a Notecard, it would automatically be copyrighted to you (in the U.S. at least - mileage may vary in other jurisdictions). So for example, Tringo intellectual property goes to it's creator... not Linden Lab. That's usually why SL is singled out: the content you create is yours.
