I would be interested in hearing people's opinions on what affect (if any) removing the Credit Card requirements has had on the Lindex.
Also being able to pay into an account via PayPal is that a recent thing or something older I missed?

The L$ recovery started right around the day Limit Buys were started (May 22, 2006) when the L$ levelled off from its plunge. Not sure if removing the CC requirement has anything to do with the further recovery, (it may simply be consumer confidence returning due to the steady L$) but I'm definitely pleased with the speed at which the L$ seems to be gaining strength.
Haven't heard a whole lot from our L$ doomsayers lately though have we?

Google Inc. is expected to unveil today an online payment system called GBuy, which analysts say will allow merchants to accept payment for services and could become a broad-based alternative to eBay's PayPal, the dominant system. Analyst Danny Sullivan, editor of SearchEngineWatch.com, said he expected Google to make the announcement Wednesday and to target online merchants rather than consumer-to-consumer payments, which is PayPal's traditional strength. Google is targeting sites that may not be able to take credit cards, which is a common problem in international markets, he said.

GBuy has already been released in the US.
If you are a world seller, PayPal transaction fees are 1.7%, which I'm not sure GBuy can beat at this point.
It's quite possible that LL has an even more impressive deal considering their eBay connections.
