Well... it was a serious question. Even I thought the idea was kinda nutty. But I'm telling you... there's something going on. I wouldn't risk looking gullible had it not come from whom it did. Mr. Ed can talk you know. Really!

Thanks for nothin' ya bunch of jokers.

I also heard that Microsoft is losing market share to Novell server operating systems.

Of course, my sources being at Novell have no bearing on the accuracy of that statement :D

I heard the main continent is sinking because LL engineers didn't account for the added weight of avies when they created them. Now that the SL population on the main continent is expanding rapidly, it is sinking at a far greater rate than previously seen.

LL attempted to stem the main continent population growth and save the continent by making island sims more attractive through lack of zoning, preferred treatment for island land barons so they could more easily create beautiful island communities, paid contractor to spam continent with ugly signs, removal of event support, texture lagging program, ramping up free accounts hoping nobody would see a need to own any land at all and many more.

This has not worked as well as expected and in the very near future, all main continent residents will have to pack up and move so the sinking land can be removed. Already, LL has created a new southern continent, however it is not large enough at present to accomodate all the main continent residents. Residents who do not win new land in an upcoming New Continent Land Lottery will be compensated at $L35/sq. m. for their current holdings on the main continent. It has been hinted that anyone who refused to move and chains themselves to Governor Linden's trees will be forcibly removed to a giant cornfield for an indeterminate amount of time.

In order to pay for this disaster, LL has been secretly printing masses of new currency, which will flood the market and ruin the economy. The new currency, or "Lippos", will be worth approximately $Li2000/$US1 and the $L will be phased out.

I have this information from the very highest authority. Please commence planning for your future, or you will be DOOMED!

A little birdy (with a lot of clout) informed me that Linden was soon going to discontinue offering private island SIMs. I was just wondering if anyone can either confirm or dismiss this rumour. I suspect a portion of it is legitimate based on the timing with the wholesale land sales test. Anyhow, any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks - Raz

Not true at all. There's room enough in the world for both private islands and mainland regions, and we love 'em all. :)

Just wondering which land baron's alt the poster is...

Thanks Pathfinder for the clarification - I always love it when 'FUD' meets 'PWND!'

While we're doing rumor control. LOL

I haven't actually heard this rumor, but it's an obvious question.

Robin says in the Wholesale Land Sales Test post that

"Single sims will continue to be auctioned during this experiment."

Does this imply that a successful wholesale land test could result in single sims no longer being auctioned?

The sinking is especially prevalent in Bonaficio.

I would suggest chaining oneself to Foolish Frost's tree in Techra. Even though it's not on the mainland it seems the most formidable trunk to tie oneself too. Besides, all of the Gov's trees are phantom.

Where can I get me some of these "Lippos"? They'll come along quite handy with my briefcase... and yeah, a future way to swap briefcases in a park at night.

I'm going to build a lawnmower and make a fortune, cause I heard that the grass was going to start growing. Seriously, no lie. I just wish I could remember who said it. Didn't think it would be a comment worthy of remembering, until I saw this post.
