Well I am very experienced in graphic design, mostly commissioned advertisements and web layouts and what not. I thought selling my skills inside of SL might be a good idea, I tried making textures but that just didn't take the cake.

I thought I would start off with a small office on some rental land, with some examples of my work on the walls and some pricing information based on size and complexity etc...

I'm just not that familiar with the economy, and from what I understand sales are mostly gathered from land or objects (mostly clothing)... So I am wondering, are the citizens going to be interested in paying out lindens to have a nice looking advertisement? Or should I try to use my skills elsewhere?

He has informet me that if anyone wants to contact him they should do so in world as on his account he is having trouble accessing the message board. Thanks.

give me an IM in world, or drop me an email.

We're currently recruiting SL-savvy designers for professional branded content projects within Second Life.

Sure they would. But the techniques won't correspond exactly between RL and SL. You'll need to get familiar with the best methods of advertising in SL, the locations to go for, the methods people find annoying and the ones they don't... there's an awful lot of really bad advertising in SL and looking at existing methods isn't necessarily going to be a good guide.

To compare the billing in SL vs the billing IRL - I should stay IRL..

But its of course very fun to do same job in SL... and do it EXAKT...as good as IRL..

I have today spent 7 hours designing and making a HandBag in SL. if i worked at my fathers advertising Company same amount of time I had ca 10.500 SEK in my hand. (minus taxes and overhead) today I get maybe 100L in my hand. and that later... and a maybe..

BUT I am not unhappy anyway......

/Tina - To EXAKT al of the time.. :-)))

Yes, absolutely. It's a niche in the economy that hasn't really been reliably filled out yet.

Especially if you offer services to promote and advertise products and other things for people. I know I'd love to set up an actual advertising "campaign"... well, I would, but I've not got much to advertise this very minute. :)

Actually you might get a lot of business, esp if you do like photo shoots and then photo shop the artwork into an ad. That's where most new builders hit a snag!

There is a market in SL for an advertising agency. You can prove this by promoting your advertising agency so you get business. *grins*
