Auction ending at 4am

There's an auction up right now for some land which I'm very interested in purchasing. However, the auction ends at 20.00 game time in a few days - meaning anything from 8pm to 1am in America, but 4am here in Britain! I'm not up at 4am, and no one but a hardened SL addict would be online at that time.

Isn't this slightly unfair - something should be done about this geographical inequity in the auction system.

All I can say is life sucks sometimes.

Oh, wait. I guess I can say, bid high, bid often and good luck.

If you really want the land you will do what it takes to aquire it, no excuses. :)

also Sl is based in Cali, most auctions are best suited for that time zone.

Of course you can always bid the maximum you are willing to pay and the system will bid for you up to that point while you sleep.

Well, there we have it. Some other fecker won the bidding - at US$31. This land isn't worth so much!

Yeah, I'm not staying up till 4am, I have to get up at six to get a poorly-timetabled bus anyway - but a friend did, and still lost out.

Don't stay up. Bid the amount you are willing to pay for the land and you will either win or lose.

Watching the bidding to the end is the wrong way to aproach an auction. You end up getting caught up in the emotion and spending more than you intended.

bid the amount that is the most you are willing to spend and walk away.

forgive my ignorance... but if anyone outbids you in the last few minutes and you already bid the most you are paired to pay then what is the problem?

If your answer is "Well if I'd known I'd have bid more..." then you should have simply bid that much to start with.

I also noticed that the 'if someone bids in the last 2 minutes, bidding will be extended 2 minutes' doesn't work either. My bid on a plot was outbid, as I watched, and as I typed in a counter bid, it closed.

I think they changed that so it doesn't extend it anymore

Also it's still annoying when your bid is beaten by 1$

Maybe they did, but the bid page said it would extend.

I hope the person who got the land enjoys it and doesn't build anything too bad!
