It seems Jessie land prices have jumped from about 10 L/sm a year ago to about 30-50 L/sm now. Its not just the pieces I have for sale either but some others too with a rapid turnover of land in some cases (Another owner bought 5000 sm and sold about 3000 at about 30L/sm within a day.) I am wondering if Jessie is the only place where the land prices are getting higher faster, or if other places are as well. (I remember a post where 512 sm in Boardman went for about L 100K).

Jessie is the "fight zone" sim?
If true, does this suggest that there is higher demand for such sims than for "no fight" sims? Can private sims be converted to sims with the character of Jessie? If so, may be a exit strategy for those with tier woes. _____________________

Land prices all over the map seem to have increased quite a bit lately. Some of the parcel sales are outradeously priced and obviously being used as advertisements; but some are just highly priced for no apparent reason other than the owner thinks somebody might pay that much.
At least Jessie features the non-optional pvp setting that grants it a little difference compared to most every other mainland lot. _____________________

Anshe tried to do it, with a cluster of combat sims a couple of months ago. One of them was named Jessie II.
![]() Unfortunately, they were pretty much been bought up whole-sim as soon as they went on sale and then rendered private access, thus denying The only one that's still accessible (if they are still there) is Solaris, but it's heavily restricted access regardless if you can TP in to it still. I do think Dreamland has a couple of damage-enabled sims on it's eastern coasts, like Trouble, IIRC. |

Prices or asking prices?

Khamon, it sounds like you are referring to "asking price," which is often much different than "closing price," especially when folks have inflated prices on for the reason you state or because the land is not really for sale but maintained for harassment, political or advertising value. It seems from the gross statistics I've seen that average land prices stay pretty stable around L$5 or L$6 per unit (last stats I've seen late November 2005 at http://secondlife.com/community/economy.php ). If Jessie is significantly more, there is something there worth understanding, I suspect. Of course, the original post may be just an attempt to start a land rush on Jessie by reference to "asking prices" ... has anyone reliable data on recent actual closing prices per unit in Jessie? _____________________

I looked a month or so ago and found some higher than average prices but not to the level the original poster is seeing today. The sim is quite a jumble and a little jarring to look at, so I passed, despite a sincere desire to hold property there. _____________________
