if you are an officer of the group

1. set yourself as the only person who can buy the land. THIS IS EXTREAMLY IMPORTANT AND MUST BE DONE FIRST

2. set the sale price to 0 lindens

3. check the box to set it for sale

4. close the dialog box

5. buy it

I cannot stress enough how important it is to set it only selleable to you before you lower the price or set it for sale. As otherwise else someone will teleport in and buy it before you even exit the dialog box.

Also READ ALL THE CONFIRM BOXES THAT POP UP VERY CAREFULLY

Remember the 10% bonus

Also, if your group took advantage of the 10% bonus received from group contributions and purchased the additional land, pulling your contribution could put your group over their land allowance. I'm still unclear on what happens to the group when this occurs, but I believe it's either an additional tier fee charged to the group OR a portion of the land will be involuntarily abandoned. I can't find that information anywhere, and live help seems to become less helpful every day. Nothing against the people on live help. I'm sure they have their hands full.

Perhaps someone else could explain this better. I just wanted to make you're aware of the possibility of your group going over their allowance.

Note to self: Do not post when exhausted. The words seem to jumble so easily.

I got a nice notecard once, it says you have X days (2?) to get the tier back up, or some Linden will grab watever Xm² looks least important and they go to auction.

Right-click the land or choose About land menu command while standing on the parcel, then click Reclaim Land.
