Another poll

In regards to all the economy polls out there...

I would say that at the very BEST the Forum Polls might accurately represent the views of the Second Life FORUM involved public.

Not every resident participates in the forum polls, or even reads the forum. Of course, then there are those who read, but do not actually VOTE. So, automatically those people and their opinions are excluded from the poll. Even though their ideas MIGHT be mirrored by a few other users that are participants in the forums, they may NOT be represented AT ALL.

Not when they are in the Land and Economy forum.

I've mentioned this problem in several other threads. The problem with SL forum polls is that alt accounts can participate in the vote. This means that one RL person with multiple alts can swing the vote in a particular direction. It's like the saying, "one dollar, one vote." Only in SL it would be, ten dollars, one vote.

Also, as Sandy pointed out, only a small percentage of the SL populace reads the forum threads. Therefore, with the policy of allowing alts to vote in polls and with the low percentage of the SL residents reading the forums, it is hard to say if forum polls accurately represent the wishes of the SL population.

Also if you look at the other forums on this board this is the only hostile forum

As a result i just read it now except once and awhile i put up a silly post or say something completely unrelated to economics or economy like this post


I think this particular forum is where people come to call other people names (my experience anyhow)

But honestly if anyone was really serious and wanted to know what the actual SL population felt or thought they would not post here they would go into the game and "ask" people what they wanted and when they got the answer to tally it and not"tell" or "argue" with those people about what they wanted. That doesn't happen however.

I think you will find that there is an overwhelming majority of people who are here who don't worry about the value of lindens or even know or care what a lindex is because they are just playing to have fun. /shrug

This poll is insanely biased.

It's a shame there isn't an in-game polling option. I know we'd all be spammed with polls, but what if we had to get them approved by LL first?? Or if LL would poll the public in-game before making changes and then make the results of those polls public.

You could always do what they do in real life. Pick up IM and place some "calls" to people you find on your "Find" list. Or grab a notecard, and do some footwork through casinos, parks, and shoping centers.
