I have it! I have the secret formula to restore the linden to its true value. Granted it's 1am and I'm tired so this is probably a stupid idea. Hopefully you get a chuckle out of it! And darn it could work too! Ya know how in The SIMS game you have to eat to stay alive? Ya also notice that there's not a lot of fat people in SL? Well, what if you had to buy "food" for your AV on a weekly basis? And you could only buy "food" from Linden Labs, therefore a "money sink". Now here's the funny/clever part, if you don't "eat" you get fat! The longer you don't eat the fatter you get. So to keep looking like that sexy model or buff bodybuilder you have to spend on food. 50l worth a week keeps you in average trim, 100l a week of food lets you be as thin as as anorexic model if you want. Heck what about pay toylets too! If you don't "go" you stand around with your legs crossed all the time Ok - me going to bed now (smile)

then i better get cracking..
err i only read the subject line because things are getting crazier by the second as people try to turn this stuff in to real world issues
just like the guys that go to your place to lecture you about selling fake cigarettes in a world where we are basically imortal and immune to all things..
i find both situations equally ridiculous.. and i think i am gonna let the lets jack up the prices and cut all little bonuses have at it and find a game with saner players..

The L$ is only worth what people are willing to pay for it.
The TOS says that they do not honor the L$ as real currency. If your business plan depends on the worth of a fictional currency, you deserve to lose money.
This is the free market. Most if not all of you started your businesses with dwell, stipends, rate bonuses, et. You knew the risks going in.
Jeez, this is like the big 3 auto manufacturers in the US wanting the govt to make people stop buying Kias because they didn't expect the price of oil to go up and choke out the market for SUV's.

You know, The Sims games are the most successful series of games of its genre, ever.
Second Life could learn a lot from what has made it popular.
