'My Land' Bug or not?

I bought a 1024, then I bought a 512 directly behind my 1024 and merged the land to one 1536 which upped my tier to 1/32 which is 2048 and gave me option to purchase more land without land fee increase. So I found another 512 in my sim and bought it. Now on Tuesday when I looked at my ‘My Land” option, it said on the bottom line I could still own an additional 512 without any land use increase. What I did was sell the 512 I had in sim and bought a 1024 closers to my 1536. After I did that, in ‘My Land” it said I can buy 0 land without a increase. It listed both my plots in the window. (the 1536 and the 1024). I thought I was all set. Last night I asked a land owner who had a 1024 plot adjacent to my 1536 if he would swap his 1024 for my other 1024 in sim so I could have one large plot. We did the swap. Now I notice I’m in the 1/16 tier with a land fee increase.

To summarize, I own one plot of land now 2560. I’m at 1/16 tier. When I owned one 1024 and one 1536, the games ‘My land’ said I could own 0 land without land fee increase. When I merged all the plots, I now can own an additional 2048 without a land increase but now I’m up a tier. There seems to be a bug in that ‘My Land’ menu because I would never of bought the additional 512 in the first place if I did not see it saying I could in “my land” menu, and said I could buy with out land fee increase. It didn’t correct itself until “my land” showed I owned only one plot instead of showing 2 plots before.

What gives??

I think I followed what you wrote.

<<Last night I asked a land owner who had a 1024 plot adjacent to my 1536 if he would swap his 1024 for my other 1024 in sim so I could have one large plot.>>

If you took his 1024 even slightly before he took your 1024 in the swap, then for a brief time you owned 1024 more land. You will be billed for the maximum amount of land you owned during the month, even if it was only for a few seconds.

We set each others land for sale to each other names in about land options and yes....I did purchase his plot a minute before he purchased my plot. When I message poped up about 'if you buy this land...', I pressed purchase without reading it because I thought there was a brief window of time for doing such deal.

What I don't understand is on this website, the amount of merged land I have actually does put me on the higher tier. It did not indicate that before, when I owned 2 plots on same sim even though the amount of land was same. I wish I had screen shots to show Lindens the messages I was seeing in 'My land' menu.

You were at the higher tier for just a second, and that is all it took to push you up temporarily. I've had this happen to me too.

You'll pay the higher tier for this month's tier, but then after that payment you will find yourself back at what you wanted.

My 2 cents...
Anytime a window pops up that involves you paying money, take the 2 seconds to read it.
