Island Owners : Are you using that free 512m on your premium a/c ? ...

Because I'm not at the moment and it struck me if we could get enough interested parties all of whom have a free unused 512m in their tier, a group could be formed to purchase say, 1/4 to whole sim on the mainland. This land could be used by or rented out cheaply to people who want to put on bigger events.

Any takers ?

I'll put up my 512m + some lindens to buy some land.

If enough people sign up here I'll sort out a group and a meeting.

Fascinating idea.

I still have my West Trade Imports business on the mainland (though often I wonder why) so I can't participate now...

...though... just having land for events space? Hmm.

Might be tempting to make a big sandbox for new players, with say, 1 prim ads for all the sponsoring sims placed tastefully at the edges?



Until my conscience and ethics got the better of me, I *had* considered offshoring a lot of script lag and so forth to a 'server depository' on the mainland.

I'm sure many private sim owners wonder what to do with all those servers people have.

Too bad there isn't a lone, remote bit of mainland out to sea where we could dump all the vendor servers, let it lag all it wants without harming anyone, and mark it with a huge 'toxic waste - don't come here!' sign.

Would this be limited to sim owners? Sounds like a great idea for anyone.

i don't hav a sim but can buy 512 m without paying any tier so might be interested. Right now I can buy new land for L$512 so am not sure what you are proposing.

We just bought a island and we are dumping our 30,000 meters of mainland on the market. Its nice roadside waterfront and takes up both sides of the street and has a 2000 meter parcel at the Bear infohub included. We know it will take a while to unload it. This idea may work out for us so we arent' stuck with the whole tier and stil have use of the land. Let me know.

No I can't see any reason why it should be limited to sim owners. I just got the idea when I realised I still had that 512 in my tier and it wasn't being used.

I'm proposing that those of us who have spare unused tier donate it to a group that can purchase a permanent large plot of land that can be used by anyone who needs space to host a large event. eg like the garden show I held on Svarga recently, or a live music event, anything. Just a space that people can use. A bit like a charitable cause. Many island/sim owners buy a sim but tier down on the mainland, this leaves you with a free unused 512m that I'm suggesting could be donated to this group ...



The only outlay would be the initial cost of the land, from then on any income from the land ( if any at all ) is divided automatically into the group. I would suggest that no one individual puts in more than 512m, that way any shared income from the group would be divided fairly and equally among the members. I personally would be happy just to have the 512 doing something, I'm not looking to make any profit on this.

If I get some free tier and a free group slot, Ill try to catch up with this. RL finances need to stabalize first, but I'd be proud to add my DHP to the list of persons and groups helping to finance content creation.

I only use my premium for my Boardman stall and a few other very small parcels, still got a bit left, if you create a group invite me .

I have around 3000 to 4000sqm free.

I'll add my unused 512 sq. m there as well + the money to purchase it with.

When are the Lindens installing the more groups initiative?
