We really really could use a better script editor, a number of additional features would be greatly appreciated, but #1 on the list HAS to be search.

Someone really needs to create an offline editor (preferably open source). It would be the simplest solution to all LSL editor problems.
I would, but I am currently very inexperianced with Java GUI APIs.

There are a number of IDE's out there that are great, all we need is someone to develope a plug-in for that IDE for the LSL.

Then you have to copy and paste. I want a decent editor in-world. Basic search/replace would do it.

I suggested Wordpad before, I think it's pretty configurable and you could probably even get LSL-style syntax highlighting if you wanted to spend the time setting it up. Definintely not worth the effort to make a whole new 3rd party editor (except maybe for the coolness factor).
Java GUI programming is a snap though, easier to learn than C++ MFC anyway. (Although I'm sort of more comfortable with MFC myself, figure that logic out!) I'm sure you'd learn Java Swing (what's the other called?) easily.

But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!

/invalid_link.htmlYou can use the built-in "Monitor Clipboard" feature to ease cut&pasting.

I endorse the idea of adding more options to the in-world script editor. I think this was mentioned at the town hall, but I forget what release Cory gave its ETA, I think maybe 1.5 or later :|
Definitly would be nice to see it bumped up.

Is search/search+replace really that hard that we have to wait until 1.5? Come on. This is not rocket science. BASIC STUFF HERE FOLKS. I bet they could do this in a day or two if they wanted.

Personally, I would also like to see the COMPLETE set of cursor and selection manipulation tools. I'm constantly wanting to shift-click to extend an existing selection or double-click-holding-second-click-and-drag to select a stretch of words. Also shift-arrowkeys to create and extend selections. These are simple changes requiring no visual UI changes... PLEEEEEEEAAAAASE? At least we DO have TAB and Shift-TAB indenting when you select multiple lines. Thank you for that!
