Okies would love to see this happen. I was given a kick stick the other day and it seems they only work on one parcel of land that you bought at a time. So for me, I would have to have several of them all over my land to cover it. (might make for an ugly view) I've tried releasing land and buying it in a bigger parcel at once but I sit at the "please wait while server reports cost" window for some time then I give up and go back to buying it back in smaller parcels. Can we get a feature to link all our land and be able to select portions of it without the select tool jumping to the whole parcel we bought at that moment? this would be "oh so helpful". Also the kick sticks dont' last long before your have to reset the scipts on them. If anyone has any suggestions, please post! I'm at a loss here.

Yep, I think this would be useful, especialy for those with land where you CANT buy a large block and half to weave in and out of other property lines.

I noticed some really freaky neighbor taxes put on me when I would buy my land in tiny chunks or huge chunks, so here's what I think.
The user should be given the ability to separate and connect his/her parcels in the way he/she deems fitting.
Of course, I don't know how easy/hard this would be to impliment, so it's one of those "you know, if you can do it, please do it" kinda things.

Presumably this would mean getting rid of the parcel dimensions (e.g. "12 X 20" that appear when your mouse pointer hovers over land, since those only apply to rectangular parcels. (Not that I'd mind; just an observation.) In general, it's harder to implement hit testing with non-rectangular areas. The llEjectFromLand function might behave unexpectedly if your property has a convoluted shape.

First I like the idea and would like to see it.
However here is something to think about. The way land works now the price you paid for it is recorded, and discounts/ price are set per parcel bought. When you release it you get back as much money as you paid for it. Its just a complication that has to be considered if land parcels merged into one and were able to be split and sold in pieces. Otherwise someone may find that moe pattern of buying / mergins / splitting and then selling generates money based on the neighbor discount. Even if its only a few dollars, you will get people that will sit there and claim - merge - split - sell til they are rich.

Hi Ama Land is already being sold in plots. I've seen it myself. Fly by and see a sign saying "this land for sale". You can set your land up for sale in the land tools for whatever price you'd like so I dont think this feature would be much different from whats there now except for being able to link them if you wish. Also would like to see an option to have the landmark put in my landmarks folder. such as: "Would you like a landmark for this parcel? yes or no

Im not sure that linking parcels as one will work because of the money issues involved. It sure would be great if the system recognized touching parcels owned by the same person so that a scripted item would work on all touching parcels owned by said person as noted above

Ah Billie its not the same at all. Yeah you can sell parcels thats normal business. But if it was found that buying 6, 1 square plots of land then linking them and selling the whole would give a net profit of $10 because of how neighbor taxes work or some such then people would sit there buying linking selling buying linking selling until they scammed enough money out of the system. Now I don't think -that- method will work. But given the dynamic nature of the discounts I don't doubt someone will find a way to scam it. And I'm not saying its impossible to make it work right, just saying this is one more thing that needs to be dealt with - not including the millions of things we don't know about the back end of the system.

I gotcha But I dont' think that would really become a big issue. Seems to me that $10 profit isn't much to brag about hehe and not worth the time invested to make it happen. I'm hoping anyway. I just want a way to make scripts on my land run without using several to cover my land is all and that annoying jump of the land tool when you select a spot

Ahhh you would be suprised. I remember back when I played EQ people would find exploits that would net them profit in silver (in EQ there is copper, silver, gold, plat - copper cheapest, silver is 10 copper etc. anything of worth cost 100s or 1000s of plat). They would sit there and work it to thousands of plat. I would never do it, god how incredibly borring. But someone else might. I mean if it gives yat $10 then ten times is 100, 100 times is $1000. Someone will figure its worth while and screw the system up. And with the economy how it works I have no idea the effect that would have.
