The release notes for 1.2.2 said they fixed the fact that avatars sitting on attached objects would crash sims. It appears the fix was to make it not possible to do this anymore This was a really fun feature that many people enjoyed, can we not just fix the detach crash problems instead of removing it entirely? Certainly this is something that can be fixed and allowed, it was one of the best little tricks in SL. Pretty please?

Absolutely, we need this. Last night a friend was giving me and another friend a ride, running around, flying, "swimming", and it was REALLY really cool. It seemed the actual act of attaching and being attached worked great! Stable and not buggy and all. All you'd need to do is address the crashing when a person is DEtached and we have another great new fun feature!
Maybe have the object detect if an avatar is seated on the attachment, and if they are, grey out the "detach" and only allow "drop"?
Also, you'd have to address the issue of crossing sim boundaries, but even if we couldn't cross sims with attachees, it'd still be really cool and fun to be able to do that kinda stuff.
