hello
im building a bot with pandorabots for a friend's comunication experience :
http://www.pandorabots.com

my bot is only answering to questions.

someone sent an advertisement to my bot and here is what happened :

someone : yeah!! great !! common !! great prices !!! camping chairs !!! etc....
my bot : i have no answer for that.

someone : for what ?
my bot : i have no answer for that.

someone : ?
my bot : i have no answer for that.

someone : repeat this again and i make a report.
my bot : i have no answer for that.

then my bot was banned for one hour because of "repeating spam"

what do you think about this ban ?
my bot was not harrassing this person, it just answered to the questions.
im afraid now to be banned again for the same problem.

As you no doubt appreciate now your bot was interacting with a real person. So you need to take that into consideration in your work. FWIW you should maybe look at having your bot only respond when it understands what the person says, otherwise it remains silent.

Can also help if you apprise people of ur bot's status upfront. Have ur bot wear a title that says "im a bot" similar to the Sine dancing bot and most of the model bots found in many of the stores in SL.

As for the ban, its not harsh really its just what happens sometimes. Think about it positively and treat it as something to learn from.

I think the person left out the fact that he or she IM'ed the account first
The governance team then disabled the account
Did investigation
And proceeded to not issue a serious suspension
