More Realistic Partnering

I think it would be great if there was a way you could pay to change your name...first and last if you like. To me it would be more realistic say someone marries someone with the last name Braveheart, if the other partner was able to pay a little something for something like a token to change their name like it would real life when buying a marriage certificate. If any others agree with me on this please give your ideas.

I used to think that was a great idea. I am not so sure now. There were only 13 Dawsons born before it was retired and 4 of us are active today: Grizzly, Abby, Lady, Me. It would be kind of odd for there to be new Dawsons added as each of those people partnered & separated & partnered again.

I like the idea of hyphenated names like: Briana Dawson-Stepford

It would seem hyphenated names would be easy to fix in case of separation as opposed to being stuck with a name you do not want to be reminded of anymore.

LL could charge a nice little fee for the hyphenated name when someone partners then a larger one to remove it when they divorce a few days later.

Please, No. Hyphenated names are one of the most pretentious things I can think of in RL.

LL has shown they can change someone's name when it's to their convenience, they should set up a for fee name change option for partnerships. And charge double to change it back after the "divorce".

I think the name change idea is great.

I met quite a few people in SL who for different reasons abandoned their first avatar, mostly relationships gone bad. Who started again with a new avatar/account but were unable to transfer their expensive stuff to their new avatar because of the perms and had to buy it all again. Recreate/rejoin groups, sell land to themselves, etc etc. Lots of hassle changing identity really, the way things are at the moment.

You shouldn't be able to do this for free tho. Maybe $US20 or something.

i'd like to see partners expanded to include biz partners, that would be nice for inworld biz

While we are it, how about being able to have 100 partners listed? (This is an actual request someone made last time I remember partnering being discussed in the forum)
Use your profile to list whatever you want. The partner can be used for your business partner if you want or rotate among your close friends if you don't mind wasting the lindens to partner/dissolve and partner again. I think if the Lindens have there way they would elimate the option because of all the tweaks people ask for it when you can just use your profile.

How?

The person i married in SL is also my business partner. Why does LL need to expand anything for this?
