Ok, we have a Bulk Upload feature already, but do we have anything like a Bulk Download feature?
How do I export the totality of my snapshots, sounds or textures to individual files?
One at a time? There's thousands of them!

Maybe when we get multi-select they can also add in the ability to select multiple files and if all have the copy/transfer mod set to true you can save them all by doing Bulk Download.
Would definitly be nice. ![]() _____________________

Heh, Az, if someone paid me to do it, I wouldnt mind doing it manually either
![]() I basically want this because I want to sort my inventory a little better and SL's user interface is a PAIN. I need to send Oz a few ancient snapshots of mine for his SL history project, but since I have like thousands of snapshots, and they are all appropriately named "snapshot"... |

Eggy, have you tried opening two inventory windows at once and draging from one window to the other, to sort?

Yeah, I know you can open multiple inventory windows. But I need to actually open all the pictures to see what they are, since a lot of them are named the same. Since they have to be downloaded first, it would take a monstrous amount of time.
If I could "bulk download" the images and then view them with some external software, I could "process" the images with just a couple of keystrokes per image. Besides, what if you want to use textures acquired in SL on some other program? I have over 1000 textures and I have full permissions on all of them. Or, what if you want to make a website with your snapshots? (And I do!) LL has every advantage in letting us easily get our content out of SL and into the real world. Showing people what can be made in SL will help draw paying customers into it. |

This would be great, but I can see Linden Lab not wanting to let everyone and their alt trigger full dumps of all textures and sounds and scripts in their inventory all at once. It would KILL their bandwidth.
How about a checkbox in preferences to turn on and maintain a backup folder of these resources. When you upload something, it is also copied to this backup folder. (Doesn't need to download, then.) And when your bandwidth usage is low, it sends one resource at a time to the folder. It'll take a while for the folder to be up-to-date, but once it is, it will be self-maintaining. A text file in the folder can contain info on the accuracy of the backup, so that while it's syncing up, you can tell it's not all there yet. And once it is, you can tell when it was last synced. _____________________
