Consistancy. They want to make it easy to talk about events and their times - 'Oh that will be at 5:00' in SL means it will be PST, and two events at 5:00 happen at the same time, not 3 hours apart.

Ill keep this simple, why cant LL just put something inside its code/servers that ask the player "what time zone are you in?" and present them with a list, which will then apply to the game, so instead of PST time events, they will be est, european, central, or mountian? Or even better, just read the data on the users computer?

What would be cool is an option to set your timezone and have your local time show up in parenthesis nextg to the PST time. 5:00 PST (8:00 EST) Then you still have the consistancy and you don't have the math. _____________________

All time in SL should be in UTC. The fact that it's in PST really makes no sense.

Everyone knows that california is the most important place in the world, why would you use any other time zone?

I don't really care what time zone it is, as long as it is consistently used throughout. Unfortunately, some functions in LSL are PST and some are UTC. Choose one.
