I have long asked for orthoganal views, and I still want them. However this may be easier to implement and still help some:

Snap to View: An easy way to move the camera onto an axis exactly, pointing at the object. So that with a shortcut or something you can for example make the camera be on the X axis, aligned with the center of the selected object, pointing at the object.

Maybe Ctrl and a left mouse click on one of the move arrows when in edit? So for example I could hold down Ctrl and click on the pos z axis arrow head, it would put the camera a few meters from the object on the z axis aligned with the center of the object looking at the object.

Does that make sense? Would it be useful to anyone else?

This is would be a very useful feature.

I have just started to make my own stuff and I really miss some features that will make zooming and viewing the exact position in an easier way.
