I think Second Life would be improved by using a text display system for the scrolling up the screen text, hovertext, avatar name text, that was legible instead of being an unreadable blob like it is now.

The current system is an attempt to fight back against bots, who can't read the new blobby text shadows, duh. ;)

Bots can read the characters in the message packets.

It's humans that have to try and fail at discerning order in the chaotic mess of pixels the Linden staff is trying and failing to pass off as text.
