I was working on a group build and shift-dragged a prim to copy it. I had modify permissions for the other member's objects, but they forgot to set the obects's next owner permissions, so now I can't modify the object that I own.
My solution to fix this is to add a preferences tab that allows you to set the defaults for new prims. It would be just like the edit mode window for existing prims, but would let you set permissions, textures, size, maybe even contents. This would make large scale builds much easier. And it would save hours of texturing. Are you with me?!

Of course I am. I've been whining all over the place about how much the permissions suck, and I have suggested that same feature myself. LL is moving towards creative commons licenses instead of the current permissions system... dont know exactly what it will be like, but its long overdue. It's insane that I have objects created and owned by ME, that I can NOT mod or copy.

Pardon my ignorance, but how would a creative commons license thing work in SL without becoming bogged down with legalese?
