Wondering if I am the only one that would like to see the option for switching from avatar to avatar without shutting down the program and restarting. Maybe something under File menu for Switch Avatar. Is this a possibility?

Hear! Hear!! I'm soooo darned tired of the wait and stress on my system to keep loading and unloading SL when I need to switch between accounts.. Not to mention when a sim goes down and your only option is to close the program.. I'd LOVE a choice to simply LOGOUT and leave the program resident, so I can log back in when the sim comes back up....

Closing and reopening SL takes all of 10 seconds (if that), even on my old puter. It just wouldn't be worth it.
If it's taking significantly longer than that for you, you'd be better served figuring out why it's taking so long for you because relogging in the same session wouldn't be any bit faster, the only time saved is the time it takes you to click the icon to restart it.
(Not to mention that all the memory leaks would just get worse than they already are)

Actually, it take me no less than 30 seconds to wait for client to fully closed, fully loaded, and then finish logging on...
The reason I never use my ALTs I have because I don't bother to relog.

Use -multiple.
Run the second client, quit the first, log in, first one closes when it closes.
