It might be nice if we had a gift field in our profiles: - a place in our profiles where we could drop an item that other people could get by clicking on a button. That would let you drop in a notecard with landmarks to your store, or a free sample of your products, or whatever you felt like giving to people.

At first I was like, "gift feild? what on earth?" but I like the idea, that would be insanely useful.

Nice idea. The button should look like a present with a bow on it.

For the meantime you could give people a field in your web profile where they enter their name so a SL-based server sends them the "gift".

Wouldn't it be easier to add a 'Freebie Giver' location to your 'Picks'?.

Click 'Teleport'

"SuezanneC's Freebies has offered you a free gift."

Click 'Accept'

Yeah, but that means the user has to teleport there. They might want to stay put.

Maybe change the name of the teleport button to 'Stay Put'?

You're giving someone something for free, and they don't want to come and get it? How exactly is that your problem?

I agree. It's a great idea. We could even place it on the main tab of the avatar profiles, and label it "Drop item or inventory here". I'm surprised they haven't thought of this already! :D

That requires that you have a place to leave a freebie giver at.

Suzanne, you're welcome to put your freebie giver in the Coonspiracy Store. IM me in-world if you want an invite to the group.

That doesn't address the issue at all.

My suggestion is not for ME to have a gift button in my profile, it's for EVERYONE to have one.

Me having a gift dispenser inworld does not provide every SL user with the ability to look at every other SL user's profile and get what the others have to offer without teleporting.

The effect of having gift buttons in profiles would also not be duplicated or approximated if every single user had a gift dispenser object inworld.

This could be a great way of distributing freebies on request. I would like there to be a small description of the object on Profile near such a button however...

Warda, this is suggesting the reverse of that existing Profile option, a gift rather than a gimme spot on the Profile.
