We need a SubState for llPushObject responce. Sorta like... Default { push(integer number, string name, key id, exc...) { <<Stuff in here would be similer to Listen/Sensor/LinkMessage Responces>>> } } I believe this will help us track whoe's pushing us a lot better. This function should also work against llSensor pushing. Doesn't require a collision. The script above is pretty self explanitory to a scripter. This script feature would allow you to track down the name of the person, retalliate, or even eject them from your land or whatever. Vote here: http://secondlife.com/vote/index.php?get_id=1647

I have no idea why this wasn't included in the game to begin with.
Ideally it would work like collision(integer num) with an extra function to figure out the push force, e.g.:
pushed(integer num_detected) { blah blah something something llDetectedMagnitude(index); }

With the recent spike in griefer activities, you have all ten of my votes.

How about giving the update a chance to work?

The "no third party push" update isn't even IN yet, why not see how it works before coming back with yet more elaborate solutions for a problem that LL's already working on?

Crosslink : my proposal: serious banning tools (bans by group, much bigger ban lists, LSL-scripted read/write access to all ban lists, bans effect alts, etc). A good combination with this proposal : imagine an orb left, say, in clubs that detects when C4 and other explosive scripts are used, and bans the user from the estate automatically.

Perhaps we could have both? I totally agree with angels ideas and want them badly, but chances are it would be 6 months before they get around to thinking about it. :/ I've waited over a year now and they still havent salved the push issues. Legitimate uses can come from both of our ideas.

You could have physics objects talk to each other through a system like that.

No Third Party Push
07-17-2006 13:59
From: Yiffy Yaffle I've been wishing that for over a year now. :/ It's coming, according to Phillip: PR (Phillip Rosedale AKA Phillip Linden): there is this scripting push abiltity that is a often used as a griefing tool we are adding features to manage that first is the ability for you as a land owner to set if pushing work on anyone on your land[...]

*laughs* OK... 'Substate', not 'substitute'... LOL at my own devious misreading of that... The first thing that came to mind when I read the title of this proposal was a function to substitute a gesture for the push action. Imagine this... Some griefer drops a push bomb, and everyone in the sim with this option set just stays where they were, and instead of flying away from the blast, calmly raises a 'one finger salute'. Seriously though, having some way that a script could detect a push effect, and could ID the user and how much force was applied, would seem a godsend for security scripting. I don't care of I get 'nudged' by a light push from a vehicle or an elevaror. I certainly do care if anyone subjects me to a push that is equivalent to being blown to pieces! Sadly, Phillip's promised "solution" is only effective while you remain trapped on land that you purchased. It's worthless if you are not standing on your own land, as you can't control it or tell if the local landowner has a no-push option in effect. What is needed is a way for INDIVIDUALS to opt out of llPush.
