As I understand, as of now, there is no way to import mouth/speaking animations.

The only way to get an avatar to appear like it's talking would be to use the pre-built gestures (True/False?)

There's really only two gestures, where the character opens its mouth (rather than just smile), and both of them are connected with wacky arm motions, which doesn't do well with integration into normal speech.

... it would be awesome if you guys could import the "phoneme animations" from Poser into the gestures library.

... or allow mouth-animations to be imported by users.

OK, so my question is would mouth-related animations be supported in an upcoming version of SL? If yes, approximately when?

Because... I want to make my avatar karaoke!!! XD

Adding 'will LL do this' to a feature request does not change it from a feature request. This is something that is possible and has been discussed. It is not, however, currently on any time table that I know about.

Possible, but not likely

What she means is that it can be implemented by LL, but they aren't likely to do it.
