Right now the night and day cyle is 4 hours day 1 hour night (in that 1 hour there is like 30 mins of just darkness)
I would like to see night time go up! I find it's cool! the argument I had when I brought it up with a Linden in world was that it's harder to build at night. so maybe could we get 3 day 2 night?
What do you guys think?

Also, Would everyone like to see the day/night cycle synced to GMT? Inotherwards, would you like to see the sun set in SL at the same RL time every night?
Right now it is out of phase, so that you get to see different times of day even if you always login at the same time.
Note that the length of night/day can be whatever we like regardless of whether we sync to RL clock.... that's a separate decision as to how much of each we need.

It would be nice to reliably know when it'd be light or dark. I think of how TSO has an ingame clock. Its not in sinc with RL time but you can get an idea of when night will fall if you pay attn.

I have a Linden time clock... that can tell you the time when ever the sun sets or rises.

Synced == cool, long nights, not so much.
Back in the day. days and nights were the smae length, nad its just plain harder to build at night. Things like parties are kinda cool when its dark, but sports are hard. um...whats that planet in HHG2TG? The spin is funky so parts are always day, other are always twightlight, and others are night all the time? - it might be cool to try that with a few sims (if its possible).

how bout just a user setting so each person could decide what time to set the game clock to?.....if i want light i set mine to noon....you want dark next door? set yours to midnight.....(could also have a server time to set it to......) (I've been thinking about stuff like this for a while and I keep coming to the same conclusion....why take something out in favor of another....is there a way to make them work together?....let's do that

Val... that would be really cool! pop next door and the light fades to dark! I like it! Like land setting!

ja, a land light setting would be übercool. on borders between lands with different settings (like from 3PM to 6AM), as you cross, the sun (and associated light) advances or regresses until it matches the desired setting. perhaps residents could also change the length of the day/night cycles on their land? that way one person could have it so their day/night is synced with their local time, while their neighbor has it night for 3 RL hours, and day for 1 RL hour. dunno how feasible this is though...

I don't like the idea of people being able to modify the day/night cycles... remember, when the world goes live it will be on 24/7 and the cycles will be changed perhaps...
Although syncing it would be good for scheduling events that would be nice to have during night etc.

I like the fact that I can change the night into day (with the debug menu on), and that it resets when I next login.
Being able to 'work' in SL with the sun up on my time schedule is very important. I would like a simple reset thou, so I don't have to re-login to reset the sun to the Linden cycle.
I would not want the SL day cycle to be sync'd to GMT, there are just TOO MANY products and services that are this way. I would much prefer that it is sync'd to PST where Linden Lab is located!

I don't like the syncing idea. I can only really play at night and I don't want to play in the dark all the time.
