Ok, if you give an object a person's name, in the chat history window it looks as if that person is saying whatever you have the object saying.
If chat history window isn't open (or at least isn't covering up the main chat whatchamacallits), then you can see that an object "talks" in green, while av's talk in white. That's great. Do the same thing in the chat history window, pretty please?

lol I was going to suggest this. Makes for a lotta fun when pushing away avs over the cliff in Kissling and having a cube named Haney Linden say "Sorry, over the cliff you go!"

Yeah, I had fun last night making "bUTTONpUSHER Jones" say "Polly wanna cracker?" over and over and over again... but this could seriously be used for harassment purposes, and anyone who didn't know to check for different text color outside of the chat history window would be falling for whatever was being said.
(Don't feel too sorry for him... he was having fun making me do backflips at the same time =)

Please! I use chat in the history window more than not (because I can't sit still and am always fiddling and miss conversation if try to not use the history).

Please. Also (and this has been asked for before), could we please have different colours for different avatars. Magic Pixie Dust color would be an obvious choice, or it could be a speperate setting.

Well, the first one could be taken care of by outlining the text in black (or whatever). For the second problem, bold, itialics, different font?

Enh, I don't really want different colors for different avatars. I wanna be able to tell at a glance whether it is an object or a person. However more colors could be nice, and here are some categories (different color for each)
Person in your currently active group
Person Shouts
Person Say
Person Whisper
Object Shout
Object Whisper
Object Say
Global IMs (from lindens etc, when they appear in main chat)
Person IM (in chat / chat history)
Object IM (in chat / chat history)
And also I would like a page with options to mute each one of those indivdually. In the case of the IMs the option to mute from chat / chat history and to mute completely (no IM window).
