How bout a feature that lets us turn group chat off? I dont mean where the group leader or officers do it..I mean where we as individuals can turn group chat off and on at will? More and more, group leaders are banning chat in groups because some members whine bout the IM's. Why they dont just miniimze the IM's I will never know..but groups were designed so others with simular likes can chat with each other....not get jumped on by whinners whom threaten tto quit the groups or report the group leaders. I do understand that there are some idiots out there whom spam in group chat...but thats where we really need individual group chat controls. Just put an option in the individual group info..that lets us still get group notices but turn on and off group chat and everyone will be happy...owners wont feel pressured into banning chat, chatters can use group chat for what it was designed for and the whinners can live a chat free life.

I do realize my post is probably gonna tick some people off but I am just sooo sick and tired of the "no chatting or i quit" whinners.

*EDIT* I am aware that closing the chat window is supposed to close the chat until you log bck in but it only works a small percentage of the time

Many clueless or rude people abuse group chats--chats not intended for general conversations. I solve the problem by simply forever muting any and all abusers. That is the consequence of ignoring the intended purpose of the group's chat feature.

And in every single case, it is someone simply ignoring the purpose and intent of the group's formation. Since beginning that, the problematic groups to which I belong (for updates and news only, supposedly) are now nice and quiet. I see only that for which the chat is supposed to be used.

Problem solved. :)
