About once or twice a day I tell someone about the alt+control+drag & alt+shift+drag combinations... Please add this to the tutorial pop-ups... Either that or I'm going to make a gesture out of it. :)

The ctrl-alt-shift-click commands are really, really useful.

I only learned about ctrl-drag on physical objects a few weeks back. It is, I'm assured, a feature that's been here since well before I signed up in January 2003, as well as something that's mentioned in the tutorial. It would have been handy for there to have been a tutorial way back then. :)

The tutorial should give you an idea of how to manipulate objects completely. If not a complete run-through of the different shift/ctrl/alt combinations, then at least an indication that shift/ctrl/alt and various combinations of the same do different things to the camera, pointer, and/or any objects selected.

When I want through orientation island it WAS part of it(9/23/03 i think). I sucked horribly at it, but I remember trying to look up at the ball in the little house and having to move it to continue on.

Maybe this was taken out?

Maybe people don't go through the whole orientation?

Maybe people just forget? :P

I dunno, but if it was taken out, I'd say put some mentioning back in.

As far as I remember it only tells you to hold the alt key and look at the back of a sign... Maybe it could be altered, so the sign is a box, and you have to hold control & alt then click on the top of it too... With a brief mention of shift's functionality.

There's no requirement for you to do the task in order to move on to the mainland. You can walk right past all the tasks (though some reward money, so it's silly to do so) =)

As a matter of fact, you can actually pull up the map while on Orientation Island and teleport to the mainland as soon as you hit the ground after loading for the first time.
