Suggestion: Age Verification: Alt's Field

Here is a suggestion that I have with the impending implication of Age Verification. Due to the fact that there are players in SecondLife that have Alt(s), to consolidate and enable people to verify their alt(s) at the same time as their main account, when a person verifies an account place field's for the person to enter their Alt characters name(s). This way players will not have to worry about what accounts they can verify.

Well, lets look at this...

I verify and see the entry feild.
I think, "Hm...I've got this great friend who I got to sign up, but he can't "age verify" because he's 15...what would happen if..."
I enter his account name in the box and click "Submit."

And thus, I age verify an account that is not mine (or conversely I age verify one that is, then give the log in details to someone who is underage).

IIRC this is already an option LL are discussing.

Breach of TOS. Either the second account is yours - then you would have passed the account to him, which is forbidden, or the account is his - then you wouldn't be able to register it as your alt firsthand or would be held accountable for giving false information. (Alts by definition are accounts held by the same user) or you can be held accountable for consciously allowing a minor entering the main grid.

Well, ofcourse, people WILL break the rules at some point...

This doesn't matter though. If we could trust that the TOS was being 100% upheld, then there would be no need for age verification at all, because the TOS prevents under-18s even logging in.

And this was my point:



There is nothing but a series of well written words that keep me from age verifying someone else's account.

Hell, I could age verify some random person's account as NOT being 18+ by creating an alt, age verifying (which will fail) and putting their name into the box too.
Now, THAT'd be a pain in the ass.

(Reminds me of how with almost no information you can ruin someone's life by declaring them dead--I think all it takes is a phone call and their SSN)

This would be a great boon to the age verified accounts market.
