GROUP Communication Problems

I want to be able to send a message to everyone in a group i belong to - i can't and i'm amazed!

I can send an inWorld group IM only to the group members on line at that moment. And Group IMs are not saved, probably to save us from silly, but fun, inWorld group coms. So i don't see saving the IM for the group as an effective option.

I could drop a Note Card on all group member profiles, and have done that, when i discovered that only about 40% of total group members are listed! What, no comlete listings of our own membership? Say it ain't so!!

Seems the larger groups have a limit to the number of members that show in the various lists - why i don't know - but even if i could get a complete list, dropping Note Cards is not a solution because it is too slow and does not enable real communications.

So the first requested feature is please have a window that lists ALL members of all groups.

Moving on the the second request:

I need a solution at the find window, or someplace inWorld, (or web based?) so once I have a complete list of all the members, I can then either drop a Note Card to the whole group, or even an IM to the group that will be saved. (But not in the current IM window to prevent inWorld chatter being saved). My feeling is the Note Card solution is best, but am open to anything that improves the situation.

Thanks for your report. We are aware that group IM needs some redesigning, however I don't have a time frame for when it might be fixed. If a person who was in a group IM closes the IM session, he "opts out" and will not get any further IM's from the group for a while.

I switched to handing out notecards instead which is a big pain but I'm not sure what else can be done until they fix it.

i have group cards in folders. i can im a folder and choose to im only the people online at the time or eveybody. it's a manual process keeping the folders complete; but it works for iming.

you cannot give a notecard to a folder, it simply puts the card in the folder.

I'm not getting this Khamon - how you IM a folder then can choose either the people online at the time you do the IM or everybody.

Can you explain further.

i right click on the calling card folder that contains the group members' cards. the menu has both those options, to im only the people online or every card in the folder.

let me reiterate that i have to maintain these folders manually. this is not an automated process. but it works for any folder i create and stack cards in. i can include/exclude anybody i want. they work just like email groups.
