New Accounting Method

The current accounting system is unusable by me and many others. It fluctuates too much and jumps a LOT on tax day, every week.

I want to propose a different solution, sorta. Instead of recalculating every day, recalculate on tax day for the next week.

So on tax day my stipend and bonus is calculated based on my ratings, change of ratings over the last week, etc. and is fixed for the week. It will not change. The stipend used for this tax day was calculated last week and I knew about it all week.

Now the number shown may change based on the whole more or less than 3500 / cover taxes deal. But the base number would not change. However there should be a new line on the summary sheet called 'Max Stipend' which showed the theoretical max stipend you would get.

That would really help I think. I would know for the entire week how much I could actually cover. Any comments?

The reason this can't work, i think. Is because lets say you go out and buy 1/16 a sim, build hundreds of objects on it... are you not gonna be taxed for this during that period? and also if oyu had the money to do all that you probably weren't due a stipend at the beginning of the week but now you spent all your money if it was the way you said and didn't change you'd get no stipend and be broke.

Maybe i misunderstood what you meant, but this is why i think it has to be the way it is.

Good luck with Darkwood I can't wait to come see it!

Actually I didn't say taxes should be calculated a week in advance, just stipends.

I really just want to know how much for sure I will be getting for my stipend so I can plan. If I know I'm not gonna be getting anything then I won't go buy that 16th of a sim. The way it is now I could think I have enough to cover buying a 16th then come tax day lose 3k anyways. That is what I want to avoid.

Then add my post in the other thread about tax regularities....

If I commit to purchasing 1/16th of a sim and know I have the cash on hand and my tax is usually taken at night. And its now the day b4 tax. I could think that I can buy the 1/16th with no problem. But with the irregular tax times this week we cant count on that. I would login to less cash than what I commited to. and therefore can't fullfill my promises...

See one of the implications of irregularities?
