Is there any way that the local lighting setting could be turned on and off without having to restart the client? This is such an important setting visually, but there are times when it affects the frame rate on certain video cards, so the option to turn it on and off at will without restart would be greatly appreciated.  |

I am no expert in 3d engines but turning on local lighting poses a huge change in how ligths are handled in game. Its the same way with most games if you mess with some features that have to do with how the video card handles the data then you gotta restart.

Well it's got more to do with OGL and graphics cards and drivers than it does with SL. I don't think this one is on LL  |

If the original feature suggestion is not possible how about this:
Allow us to do things that require a "restart" without having to re-download inventory. =D

For that matter why do we have to download our inventory everytime we log in if it hasn't changed since we logged out?
