"Report..." for sim admins

I think it'd be a good idea to have a kind of "Report..." option on the right click menu for flagging an object for higher ups in that sim's hierarchy. Flagged objects would show up in a window with a list on it (listing all objects) and buttons to return, delete, or teleport to, accessible only by members with a particular role setting (something like "Deal with sim crap", only more flowery). Flagged residents would ask the flagger why that person is being flagged, and then pop up a blue dialog for members of that role telling them someone's been flagged in the sim, the reason, and options for ejecting, banning, or teleporting to the flagged person in the sim.

I think I understood, but you weren't terribly clear. To make sure I have this right....

Group role at the estate-level that reports go to. "deal with sim crap"

Ordinary users can flag objects or other users with a "report" option.

Reported items appeart to the group.

Group members have several options, return/teleport/etc. to deal with reported objects (along with who reported, who owns, etc. and options to ban/eject them as well).

Group members have different options for users. Namely why the user was reported, who reported them, etc. With options to teleport to reporter and reported users, eject, ban, and IM both people.

At least, that's how I'd do it based on your confusing entry. There would need to be a way to ban and eject the people who are doing the reporting in case they are spam-reporting everything in sight as well as deal with the itmes that are being reported correctly.

Only problem I see is if two (or more) members deal with the report differently, or at different times--each issue only needs to be dealt with once, no need to hit *everyone* with it.

You've got the idea for the most part. I was thinking that it'd be a kind of queue, you take the report and it's removed from the list so others don't deal with it too.

Wouldn't it be far far simpler to just enable weapons and pushing if we wanna turn the Grid into a free-for-all war zone? Because the thought of administering all the potential "broadly offensive" flags and complaints makes me consider avatar violence...

What? o.O

This is for regulars to a sim who see left over prims or junk objects hanging around and want to let someone in charge know where they are. Keeps sims clean and tidy.

It also lets someone in the sim's hierarchy who can deal with griefers know there's something going on and helps them deal with it. Would you rather report a griefer in a sim to the Lindens while he carries on, gets bored, and then leaves only later read that "someone griefing a sim got suspended for two days"? Or would you rather report him to the sim's security force who are likely online, available, can ban him from the sim in a few seconds to a minute, and report him to the Lindens themselves?
