I'm sure people have already addressed this at some point but I'm going to make my suggestion anyway. We all know how our Inventory can get really out of hand really quick. How about changing the Inventory a little to help residents stay organized a lot easier.
I suggest when you add/create/open/copy an item to inventory SL lists all the folders you have and asks where you would like that item(s) added, as well as an option to create a new folder. Similar to how the file tree works in windows explorer. This way you can instantly and constantly keep your inventory in order with little maintanance.
You're basically creating same system that textures use when you add them to an object only its with all the files. What do you all think? When I explore I kinda go crazy adding things to my inventory and then I have to spend a couple hours sorting them myself.

Thats what I do.I just go find a quiet place, late at night, and sit down while organizing things.

I would love it if there was a web page that I could use to organize my inventory. It would be much easier than using the pop-up display.
