llInstantMessage delay to owner

I think that the delay put on llInstantMessage should be lifted for all IM's being sent to the owner of the scripted object, this would make non-spamming readout possible for a lot of differant things. As of now the only way to give multi-line readouts is through llSay or llWhisper which causes a lot of problems if you are around others.
While I understand the need to restrict IM's to others to cut back on spam I think that if IM's were left unrestricted to the current object owner it would cut down on channel 0 spamming considerably.

Hmmm, How do I set this?

Sounds good, except that the current object owner can be anyone who is given or sold the object. Therefor it could still be used as a spam weapon. But it still wouldn't be as bad, and the victim could just delete it from their inventory.

Yes, as I see it if the owner of the object bought something which is being used as a spam weapon, they could simply take it again and send report the object. Chances are that the lindens would do something about it and by the person keeping the object it is solid proof that the creater was breaking the TOS agreement.

And if someone was going to spam, says or shouts are more grief-causing, anyway.

I think the delay was for more technical reasons. But if both the IMer and the IMee are in the same region/sim, there should be no delay.

I agree, the delay should be lifted for the owner.

I agree and would also like that. But Tiger is prolly right.. So I would settle for just removing the delay if the person(maybe also owner only if grief is cause too) is in the same sim..

At the very least the delay should be lifted off of attached objects at the very least. It would be nice to have a non-spam form of readout on objects. The same-sim delay lift is a good idea as well.

agreed. I have the choice of either spamming everyone publicly or peivately or to one person who has, by virtue of the fact they issued the command and are the owner, consented to this 'spam'.

Gimme!
